The World's Fastest Man, Usain Bolt will join Competitive Edge on their mission 'to inspire and entertain" and join Australia's World Champion's and leading athletes as well as the best Footballers from all codes in an Athletic All Stars event not to be missed. For one night only the best Australia has to offer will battle it out with leading athletes from around the world. The event will be held exactly 10 years to the day after the Sydney Olympics Opening Ceremony and will take place alongside several 10 year anniversary events, including the re-igniting of the Olympic Cauldron by Cathy Freeman and Louise Sauvage. Grandstand tickets are available HERE ($70 per ticket). People purchasing a ticket through LAANSW will be asked to nominate their favourite Little Athletics Centre. The Centre that has been nominated by the most ticket purchasers, will be able to select one child to meet USAIN BOLT and will also receive 4 tickets to the "World Champions" Charity Ball, at Doltone House on September 16. If you know anyone who may be interested in the event (business colleagues, friends, relatives etc), then encourage them to buy their tickets here and nominate YOUR Centre. The event promises to be a wonderful night of entertainment: - National Rugby League stars Jarryd Hayne and Greg Inglis will headline the Fastest Man in Footy sprint race: Canterbury's Jamal Idris, who represented Australia at the World Junior Athletic Championships three years ago, will take on world discus champion Dani Samuels while former international rugby league star Mark Geyer will match muscle with national shot put champion Scott Martin. Samuels will also compete in a unique three-way shoot-out against America's Olympic Champion Stephanie Trafton Brown and former New Zealand world champion Beatrice Faumina. World indoor long jump champion Fabrice Lapierre will attempt to break the national record "Jumping" Jai Taurima set 10 years ago when he won a silver medal during the Sydney Olympics. Sydney hurdler Hayley Butler will go head-to-head with her Kiwi arch rival Andrea Miller in a Trans Tasman challenge aimed to decide the queen of Australasia's 100m hurdles ahead of the New Delhi Commonwealth Games. Reigning Commonwealth Games Champion John Steffensen will compete in an interactive 400m race against Aussie legend Darren Clark in a 21st century version of the battle of the clock. Steffensen will race vision of Clark taken when he was at his peak. This is athletics and entertainment rolled into one. The night will also feature dancers, rock bands and DJs as well as numerous other activities that are aimed to help draw a new crowd to the ancient disciplines of athletics. Come and be witness to a piece of sporting history and Usain Bolt's only appearance in Australia. It is sure to be electric. For further information www.athleticallstars.com.au
