Zone 2011 Report

I would also like to say a big THANK YOU to our club committee who stood up and were official all weekend. They also helped with the set up and pack up all the zone equipment. I would like people to remember that the Club and Zone Committees are all volunteers who had children competing over the weekend as well. I believe we did a pretty good job since we were 100 officials short all weekend.

So Thank You to the parents who helped out over the weekend at different events to make up the numbers so the events could run as smoothly as possible.

Especially Ivan Delaney, Mem Delaney, Mick Carroll, Shaun Johnston, Corrine Terlato, Jenny Symington, Shannon Langshaw, Shayne Baric and Rob Annear who put their hand up to worked all weekend weeks before the carnival.

Special mention to several of our under 14,15 and 17 athletes who not only competed over the weekend but also helped with official duties Caitlin Delaney, Adam Batten, Luke Batten, Anita Terlato, Teresa Terlato, Maddi Symington and Maddison Langshaw.

Adam Batten who has been a junior grade ‘D’ official was signed off to become an ‘C’ grade official in Discus along with Donna Gale in Long Jump and Nathan Burley achieving his Javelin qualifications to add to his Discus C grade. These officials now join Tuggerah’s other ‘C’ official Ed Batten, Jenny Batten, Rod Condon, Dean Arigho, Ivan Delaney, Mem Delaney,  Gracie Vesper, Lisa Reid, Kathy Liedberg, and Shayne Baric as Qualified Little Athletics Officials.

Also representing Tuggerah as officials over the weekend who no longer have children in the club were life time member Tony Schofield as starter, Peter Scoular as the computer operator and ex athlete Rebecca Smith as an assistant with the computer and results.

Out of 30 ZONE RECORDS BROKEN over the weekend
